We enjoyed a five day cruise around the Canadian Gulf Islands to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Our friends, Sharon and John, joined us for the festivities. We departed Roche Harbor on Tuesday morning in zero visibility fog, and never saw any scenery for the entire day. We arrived in Salt Spring Island on Wednesday to clearing skies, and enjoyed lunch at a marina cafe. Sharon and I even managed a day of shopping in the town of Ganges. David worked his magic with two turkey breasts on Thanksgiving and we enjoyed a traditional feast of turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings. We wish all of our friends a very happy and blessed holiday season.

Today is Lenni's sixth birthday! We are taking her to lunch in downtown
Sidney and preparing her a yummy steak for dinner. She certainly has a great
life! We are truly blessed to have her in our life - she makes every day
special with her unconditional love for us and her sweet personality. Happy
Birthday, Lenni !!!!

OK, so we have gone from no posts for a month to two in one day, be careful what you ask for....
Those of you who have been to the Port Sidney Marina will recognize the customs tent, or more correctly what was the customs tent. A gust of 48 knots exploded it like a stick of dynamite going off. A bunch of us wrestled the flapping pieces to the ground and we tied it off with lines from Alyeska.
In my spare time today I got the hydraulic motor for the generator reinstalled.
Now I am off to pick up Carol, assuming Horizon will fly / land when it is blowing 20 knots or so!

A number of you have called asking what has become of our updates....so to continue...
We arrived safely at Sidney, BC on September 22nd. Carol left shortly thereafter to return to Atlanta to attend to her business responsibilities. David and Lenni stayed with the boat to begin the winter maintenance program, which will be the subject of another post.
This morning Lenni and I woke up early to the sound of wind whistling through the mast. Currently the wind is blowing 40 knots, with a peak of 46 knots so far, and this is INSIDE the marina. Boats all around us are rocking and rolling, but after a stroll of the dock, in company of other live aboards, all seems secure for now.
Carol is on her way back to the boat today and all is well with us.
